Where has the Delbert Been?June 22, 2007 - For those of you who have been checking here at intervals, our apologies for not updating things for a while. Life has been busy for Delbert. And to complicate matters, he relies on me (Patrick) to keep his web site up to date, the silly fool. (Sorry, Del...just kidding...you're not a silly fool at all...but you could certainly use a webmeister with a bit more on the ball!) In any case, Del recently took all of us down to Lake Cowichan on May 19 (Heritage Day) for a homecoming of sorts, and we performed his show with a whole bunch of new stuff - some new visuals, some new tunes from Del, Randy and Scotty - and they were even brave enough to let yours truly stand up on stage and cautiously play eight notes on the keyboard with them, the silly fools! (Just kidding again guys.) The show was a blast and a real trip down Memory Lane for Del. For some of us (myself in particular) it was a revelation - a glimpse into life in the community that gave rise to Mr. WindowPain. It was really cool to see the place that germinated The God Doctor, The Lake Becomes A River and Loggin Roads. And now, time to move on to the next projects. Del's always cooking something up in that complex mind of his, and as some of these things come to fruition we'll post info back on the site. So please stay tuned. - Pat Gaul, Denman Island, June 22, 2007 |
